Cayo Cruz is located on the north side of the main island and is only 50 minutes flight from Havana to Cayo Coco. This is a huge system of pristine flats, lagoons and estuaries and is practically intact, it is one of the cleanest and most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world.

This destination is incredibly virgin and has only seen fishermen for five seasons! Here the permit is abundant and it is not easily frightened.

The low or flats have a soil that is a mixture of sand with compact parts, allowing you to wade easily in many of them. The average bonefish size is 4 to 5 lbs but you can find a good number of them with 2 digits. There is a very good amount of permit that can be seen in all the fishing areas, the weight of them is between 8 and 30 lbs and in 4 of the 8 fishing areas it is possible to find good size migratory tarpon. Besides permit, bonefish and tarpon, you can find other species such as jack crevalle, snook, mutton snapper, cubera and barracuda.

The best months for fishing are between April and June, but there is also good fishing from February to March, and from July to the end of August. The low season is from August to February and the high season from March to July.
